Student Housing Fees

* The minimum age is 19 at the time of arrival unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* The 2nd administration fee – $180
Maintenance Fee (Non-refundable) $150/person
Damage/Security Deposit Fee (Refundable) will be 2 weeks fee of the room fee that students will stay.
Downtown Vancouver Student Residence – Thurlow
* The minimum booking duration must be 24 weeks.
Standard room with private bath $550/week
Extra Night $120/night
Superior room with private bath $600/week
Extra Night $140/night

– In any early move-out cases, fees will be refunded with a 8-week advance written notice. Details will be provided upon request.
– All room types are designated for single occupancy. Having an additional tenant will incur a charge of $400 per month ($100 per extra night), subject to landlord’s approval. It also requires a minimum booking of 6 months (24 weeks). If a student decides to move out before completing the full 24-week period, an additional charge of $50 per week per student will be applied for the weeks that the student has already stayed.

Downtown Vancouver Student Residence – Nelson
* The recommended minimum booking duration is 12 weeks.

* The first request to change the start date / homestay move-in date / campus location or to receive additional admission letters is free. All additional requests will be charged the Administration Fee.
** The Legal Custodianship Fee is mandatory for all minors.

Financial Assistance

VanWest College does not offer any financial assistance, scholarships, bursaries, or awards directly.

However, only Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents may be eligible to apply for financial assistance through StudentAid BC, provided they are enrolled in qualifying programs listed on the StudentAid BC approved program list and meet the eligibility criteria.

In addition, students enrolled in VanWest College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program may be eligible for the ECE Education Support Fund (ECE ESF), which includes two funding streams:

  • The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Student Bursary Program

  • The ECE Workforce Development Bursary Fund Program

These funding streams aim to support students entering, re-entering, and completing recognized ECE post-secondary programs.
